Big Tree Family Daycare provides quality care for preschool children in a home environment. I am passionate about nurturing young children and helping them to navigate social situations in a safe, warm and fun place where they are allowed artistic, creative expression and can explore physical and intellectual pursuits. Our daily rhythm has a strong focus on song, rhyme and story both explicitly during circle time and woven through the day’s activities of cooking, gardening, craft, indoor play and outdoor play. Big Tree Family Daycare is part of the Mt Alexander Family Daycare group and as such is run through and overseen by Castlemaine Childcare Cooperative.
OPENING HOURS & FEES
Regular opening hours are 8am-5:30pm on Monday and Friday.
During school holidays we open every weekday (Monday to Friday) 8am-5:30pm
Outside these hours care can be arranged on a case by case basis
Regular hours are charged at $10 an hour. All food, nappies, wipes and administration is included in this fee. During school holidays on most days there will be an extra adult to supervise, Seamus, who is a qualified teacher and drama instructor as well as a former storytime librarian and former manager at the Fitzroy Adventure Playground “Cubbies”. This will not change the number of children attending.
A minimum of 5 hours is required when booking, excepting the first four week orientation and “settling” period.
Outside hours are charged at $12.50 an hour. Weekends/Public holidays $15 an hour.
